GFTeam Patterson is proudly affiliated with the Grappling Fight Team (GFTeam) — one of the most respected names in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Founded in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in 1996 by Professors Julio Cesar, Marcus Bello, and Alexandre Barauna, GFTeam has built a legacy of technical excellence, discipline, and global unity within the martial arts community. Much like the iconic Gracie family, GFTeam has expanded tremendously over the years, now boasting over 250 official representatives and hundreds of affiliated academies worldwide.
Dedicated to the evolution of combat sports, GFTeam integrates Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) into its training programs, offering a complete and modern approach to grappling. With each new academy established, the organization continues to grow, innovate, and inspire, strengthening its reputation as a leader in both competitive and instructional Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu around the world.

COACH CAMERON
Coach Cameron, the Head Instructor at The Grapple HQ, is a highly respected GFTeam black belt under Professors Joao Marinho and Jose Varella. With over 13 years of martial arts experience, Coach Cam brings a wealth of knowledge, technical precision, and real-world combat insight to every class. His background as a former MMA fighter, kickboxer, and boxer gives him a well-rounded perspective on both striking and grappling arts, allowing him to craft a complete and effective training experience for students of all levels..
An active Jiu-Jitsu competitor, Coach Cam continues to test and refine his skills on the mats, leading by example and inspiring his students through dedication and discipline. A veteran of the U.S. military, he embodies the values of perseverance, respect, and integrity—principles that form the foundation of his teaching style at The Grapple HQ.
